The brother of a member of the first-team ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona has on Tuesday been afforded a call-up to the Spanish U18 national team.

The player in question? Guillem Víctor.

The name Víctor has of course proven itself a prominent one in Catalunya’s capital across the summer to date.

This comes after Pau Víctor saw his loan move from Girona made permanent, before dazzling in pre-season with the Barcelona first-team, to the tune of three goals and top-scorer status.

Whilst as much was playing out, though, a member of the same family was continuing to make a name for himself at youth level.

Guillem Víctor has for his part been on the books at Barca for a number of years now.

During pre-season, the 17-year-old was handed a first chance to showcase his talents with the club’s Atlètic outfit, and went on to grasp as much with both hands.

Guillem, who generally operates as a full-back, even showed his own prowess in the final third in opening his account for Barcelona Atlètic.

And such endeavours on the part of the starlet, as alluded to above, have today been recognised.

As per a report from Mundo Deportivo:

‘The Leonese goalkeeper Eder Aller and the right-back Guillem Víctor, both 17 years old, are the representatives of FC Barcelona in the first call-up of the 2024-25 season of the Spanish U-18 team.’
