Bristol City defender Sille Struck has signed a new one-year contract with the club.

The Robins announced the news via a post on their official club website just a short time ago. The deal is subject to the player’s work permit being extended.

Struck joined Bristol City last summer following a three-year spell playing her football in Spain with both Rayo Vallecano and Levante Las Planas. The 25-year-old former Danish youth international made 13 appearances for Bristol City in all competitions last season in which she scored one goal.

Bristol City head coach Lauren Smith rates Struck highly and the club have therefore moved to retain the player’s services for another year.

After signing on again at Ashton Gate for the new season, Struck said “I’m pleased to be staying with Bristol City for the new season.

“I loved my time here last season so it was an easy decision to sign the extension. I want to help the team achieve the best we can this season.”

Struck is the first player to sign a new contract with Bristol City this summer, however, head coach Smith looks to have retained the vast majority of her squad from last season as planned.
