Brighton win race for former Arsenal prospect Amario Cozier-Duberry

Brighton have confirmed the signing of ex-Arsenal prospect Amario Cozier-Duberry.

A host of European clubs were credited with interest in the teenager, including Borussia Dortmund and Newcastle United.

But the Seagulls have won the race to land Cozier-Duberry’s signature on a four-year contract after he became a free agent earlier this summer.

“We’re really pleased to be able to bring Amario to the club,” said Brighton’s technical director David Weir.

“He’s got attributes we like and we believe he is a player who can flourish in our environment.

“We’re looking forward to working with him and helping his career to progress.”

Fabian Hürzeler’s side kick off their Premier League campaign with an opening-day trip to Everton on 17 August.
