Brighton are open to the permanent sale of Evan Ferguson this month but have already rejected an offer from an unnamed club.

Ferguson has failed to reclaim his place in the Brighton side since injury and has started just twice in the Premier League this season. The 20-year-old is understood to be considering an exit having seen his development stall on the south coast.

Ferguson scored 10 goals in all competitions during a breakthrough campaign in 2022/23 and last season became only the fourth player to score a Premier League hat-trick aged 18 or under. However, he has struggled for form and fitness since and it was revealed late last year that Brighton would entertain offers for the forward.

It was initially expected that Brighton would consider loan approaches for the Republic of Ireland international. The Athletic are now reporting that Brighton could let Ferguson leave on a permanent basis if a suitable offer arrives.

The Seagulls have rejected a permanent bid from an unnamed club, amid strong interest. Everton, Bournemouth and West Ham have all been heavily linked with the Irishman.

Bournemouth have seen forwards Evanilson and Enes Unal sidelined with injuries, while West Ham are also looking for a striker in the absence of Michail Antonio and Niclas Fullkrug.

A move to the London Stadium would see Ferguson reunite with Graham Potter, his first head coach at Brighton. Potter was named as West Ham manager earlier this month.
