Switching from right-back to left-back in Brighton's XI, Gross has still been popping up all over the pitch, firing in the equaliser from the edge of the box and putting an earlier effort wide of the target. The Germany international has also completed 22 passes from six final third entries, and has the most touches of any player on the pitch. He's been successful in four of his even duels so far, winning half of these in the final third with two well-timed tackles. Key.

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Brentford

20:32

We're locked up at 1-1 as the first half draws to a close, with a manic few minutes seeing Brentford take the lead and have it cancelled out just as quickly! The first 25 minutes were sparse of chances to say the least, with Gross' miss from close range the only move that looked anything like dangerous. All that changed though, when Van Hecke hauled down Janelt in the box, with Mbeumo slotting home the resultant penalty. Just four minutes later though, the hosts were level through Gross, who made up for his earlier miss with a sumptuous strike into the bottom corner. Headers from Pedro and Van Hecke barely troubled Flekken, while Mitoma fired over the top late in the half, as Brighton finished the stronger of the two sides despite a continual struggle to break Brentford down.

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Brentford

20:14

As if conceding the equaliser wasn't bad enough for Brentford, their scorer and talisman in this game Mbeumo is down injured and doesn't look able to play any further part here. He's carried off with the slim hope of carrying on, but Yoane Wissa is being prepped to replace him regardless.

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Brentford

20:12

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Brentford

19:58

Yellow Card Jan Paul van Hecke

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Brentford

Pedro and Van Hecke both rise to get on the end of Gilmour's corner, but the pair get in each other's way and it's a tame header into Flekken's gloves.

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Brentford

19:56

Mitoma's overhit cross from the left is kept in brilliantly by Hinshelwood at the opposite corner flag, and Onyeka's tackle takes the ball behind for the first corner of this contest.

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Brentford

19:55

Roerslev launches a long Brentford throw into the box which Pinnock gets his head to, but it's an easy one for Steele to collect and the Brighton 'keeper does so.

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Brentford

19:48

Buonanotte turns looking to advance in the final third, but is stopped dead in his tracks by Onyeka sliding in behind. He's penalised, and given the way those kinds of tackles are viewed nowadays, the Nigeria midfielder is somewhat lucky to avoid a booking there.
