Brighton Enquire About Lazio Summer Signing
Brighton & Hove Albion have reportedly contacted Lazio asking about the availability of their midfielder Fisayo Dele-Bashiru.
Brighton Want Fisayo Dele-Bashiru
According to La Lazio Siamo Noi, the Seagulls are interested in signing the 23-year-old who had only joined the Biancocelesti last summer, completing a loan move from Turkish side Hatayspor with an obligation to buy at the end of the season. The Nigerian is all too familiar with English football as he’s an academy product of Manchester City.
Lazio Close the Door
Nevertheless, the source reveals that Lazio have slammed the door on Brighton’s attempts, as they have no plans to part ways with Dele-Bashiru anytime soon. The Nigeria international had a relatively slow start to the season, but he’s been making important strides as of late.
The summer signing has also showcased his versatility by interpreting several roles, including the central midfielder, attacking midfielder and even played on the wings as of late.
Dele-Bashiru Represents Lazio’s Future
The report also notes how Dele-Bashiru’s improvement has been emblematic of a young and hungry Lazio side that is slowly but surely developing under the careful watch of Marco Baroni. The manager has often praised the Lagos native for his great potential, but insists he must still improve his reading of the game and decision-making.
