Brighton begin talks for Yankuba Minteh as Lyon and Everton remain keen on the former Feyenoord star
Newcastle United are looking to offload Yankuba Minteh this summer and several sides have approached the Magpies for their Gambian winger. According to Fabrizio Romano, Brighton are the latest side to enter the race as new head coach Fabian Hürzeler looks to strengthen in attack.
Yankuba Minteh spent last season on loan at Feyenoord, where he netted 11 times and provided six assists in 40 appearance. During his short spell at De Kuip, the 19-year-old winger became a fan favourite, putting on some incredible displays to help the club finish second in the Eredivisie table. Minteh also found the back of the net in Feyenoord’s Champions League clash against Celtic.
Newcastle are now looking to sell the youngster before the Premier League Profit and Sustainability deadline on Sunday, June 30. Ligue 1 outfit Olympique Lyon submitted a proposal earlier this week, whilst Everton have also reached out to register their interest. Newcastle are yet to give the green light for Yankuba Minteh’s departure as they await a bid from Brighton.
