Brian Gionta scores sneaky goal behind Pekka Rinne's back (Video)

Buffalo Sabres forward Brian Gionta entered their game against the Nashville Predators having last scored a goal on Jan. 31, despite having come close to one recently.

He needed a break. But as you can see on this play Tuesday night, sometimes you make your own luck in the NHL, as Gionta did with a mid-air shot that ricocheted off of Pekka Rinne and into the goal for the Sabres.

Oh, that’s just devious.

It was Gionta’s 13th goal of the season, topping his total from 2015-16. He said recently that despite an expiring contract, and being 38 years old, he’d like to remain with the Buffalo Sabres. “I’d like to stay here. I’d like to be here going on in the future. I want to see this thing through,” he said.
