Brest target loan deal for former Monaco forward Wilson Isidor

According to a report from L’ÉquipeStade Brestois are looking to bring Wilson Isidor (23) back to Ligue 1 on a season-long loan deal.

Brest will, for the first time in the club’s history, compete in Europe next season. Having sealed a spot in the UEFA Champions League, Les Ty Zéfs are looking to strengthen their squad, however, with the continued uncertainty surrounding the TV rights deal, there are limited means to do so.

Loan deals could be seen as a means by which the current squad could be strengthened. L’Équipe understands that such a deal is being considered for former Stade Rennais and AS Monaco forward Isidor, who has spent the last two-and-a-half years playing in the Russian top flight.

He spent last season on loan from Lokomotiv Moscow at Zenit St-Petersburg, however, he played a marginal role, making only 14 league appearances and scoring just two goals in that time. The versatile Frenchman is now being lined up for a return to France with Brest negotiating a move. Whilst there is confidence surrounding the deal, currently talks revolve around the percentage of the salary that Brest will pay over the course of the loan.
