Brest predicted XI v Real Madrid: Abdallah Sima set to start

Brest will host Champions League winners Real Madrid for the final matchday of the league phase tonight at Guingamp’s Stade du Roudourou. Whatever the outcome, it will probably be the most anticipated game in the history of Stade Brestois 29. For their first-ever European competition, Brest have defied all the odds. They are currently 13th in the Champions League standings, ahead of Carlo Ancelotti’s Merengue.

Eric Roy’s Pirates are currently unbeaten in their Roudourou home in the Champions League. They won against Sturm Graz and PSV and drew against Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen. Brest are certain to play in the playoff round. They can still qualify for the RO16 under several conditions but they will need to beat Real Madrid.

With senior left-backs available with Jordan Amavi and Bradley Locko out injured and Luck Zogbé ineligible to play in the Champions League, Roy will resort to field winger Mathias Pereira Lage in defense. GFFN 100 winner Pierre Lees-Melou has returned to the fold but the former Norwich midfielder is expected to start on the bench. Brighton loanee Abdallah Sima is poised to get the nod.

Brest likely XI vs Real Madrid

Marco Bizot – Kenny Lala, Brendan Chardonnet, Soumaïla Coulibaly, Mathias Pereira Lage – Mahdi Camara, Edimilson Fernandes, Hugo Magnetti – Romain Del Castillo, Ludovic Ajorque, Abdallah Sima.
