When you’re trying to fill up your soda cup at Subway, the last thing you’re probably expecting to see is Brent Burns’ toothless, bearded visage staring right back at you.

That’s what happened to some hungry customers in Quebec after a partnership between Subway, Pepsi Spire and the San Jose Sharks defenseman. Technology made it happen that allowed Burns to appear on the digital touchscreen and introduce himself unexpectedly.

So next time you’re out for lunch and picking out your soda in a Pepsi Spire machine, you could be soon greeted by one of the NHL’s best defensemen and No. 1 Wookiee, and perhaps end up with a lovely lunch date.
