Svoboda was considered a borderline player heading into selection camp but has made the roster. New York Islanders prospect Cole Eiserman and potential 2025 NHL Draft No. 1 pick James Hagens are also on the team.
The 19-year-old centerman plays for Boston University and has three goals and 17 PIMs in 11 games.

Svoboda was drafted 71st overall in 2023 and had a solid Draft +1 year. The forward played in the USHL for the Youngstown Phantoms and Fargo Force last season. He won a championship, the Clarke Cup, with the Force. In nine playoff games, he had four goals and one assist.
