BREAKING: Resolution Has Been Reached Between The Golden Knights and Robin Lehner Situation

A resolution has been reached regarding the situation between Robin Lehner and the Vegas Golden Knights.

According to Frank Seravalli of the Daily Faceoff, the Golden Knights won't have Lehner's contract on their salary cap this season saving them from placing Lehner on the LTIR and keeping one of those spots open.

Lehner will still be paid his $4.5M salary he's owed entering the 2024-25 season.

The situation between the two parties occurred because the 33-year-old was absent from a mandatory pre-season medical exam. Lehner last played in the 2021-22 season before undergoing hip surgery in August 2022 of that offseason. Injuries affected the later stages of his career, but mental health and substance issues affected Lehner throughout most of his career.

Lehner has been open about his battles with bipolar disorder, ADHD and PTSD, as well as his undiagnosed mental health struggles that caused him to turn to drugs and alcohol, and then his journey and path to sobriety.

It was stated before that the NHLPA wanted to avoid setting a new precedent in this case so finding a compromise for both the Golden Knights and Lehner is the best possible outcome.
