Brad Pickett Not Content to Call Himself a UFC Fighter, Wants to do Something Special

UFC on Fuel TV 5 Fighter Bonuses: Brad Pickett Leads the Way with Knockout of the Night

Brad Pickett doesn’t like to lose, he has made that much clear, not only by his words, but also by his actions.

Over the course of a near eight-year professional career spanning 27 fights, “One Punch” has only suffered back-to-back defeats one time. It’s something he never intends on repeating.

“Obviously, I'm over the moon with this tonight,” Picket said after his UFC on Fuel TV 2 Fight of the Night performance against Damacio Page. “This sport is a winning business. Fight of the Night is great to get, but at the end of the day you can't just be winning all the time but being a boring fighter, and you can't just be the most exciting fighter in the world and continue losing. You need to balance the both.”

Pickett bested Page, going toe-to-toe with him for nine minutes before sinking in a fight-ending rear naked choke.

The Brit was coming off of a loss to Renan Barão at UFC 138, and having lost two of his three previous fights. That’s not something that Pickett is accustomed to. He puts his own feet to the fire when it comes to his career. He’s not content being able to call himself a UFC fighter. He wants more, much more.

“The pressure I feel is what I put on myself, and that's to be a winner. I put more pressure on myself than anyone else,” said Pickett. “I'm a very proud person. I'm very competitive. Losing sucks.

“So I'm just happy to get back on the winning track. I'm here in the UFC to try and do something with myself, not just being happy being here.”
