Brad Marchand taunts Justin Williams with 'C' gesture after drawing penalty

Brad Marchand recorded his first 100-point season this year but he’s unmatched at agitating his opponents. This time, the Boston Bruins forward successfully got under the skin of Carolina Hurricanes captain Justin Williams.

Marchand hauled Williams down with his stick and the Hurricanes veteran immediately retaliated. As these things go, the referee apparently only saw Williams’ response, earning a two-minute minor while Marchand emerged unscathed.

Marchand couldn’t help but take another dig at Williams on the way out, pantomiming a “C” gesture to show that the 2014 Conn Smythe Trophy winner ought to have known better. And perhaps he should’ve, but he’s certainly not the first to be sucked in by Marchand’s antics, and won’t be the last.

The Bruins’ star was held off the scoresheet but his impact on the game remains intangible, as his team cruised to a 6-2 victory Sunday and hold a 2-0 series lead in the Eastern Conference Finals.
