Brad Marchand Gives New Bruins Forward Big Praise

On Saturday (Dec. 14), the Boston Bruins claimed forward Oliver Wahlstrom off waivers from the New York Islanders. With the Bruins needing more depth at right wing, it is understandable that they are taking a chance on the Portland, Maine native. It's why we here at The Hockey News Boston argued that the Bruins should snag him off waivers before it came to fruition.

Following the Bruins' matchup against the Vancouver Canucks, Brad Marchand was asked about Wahlstrom, and he gave the new Bruins forward some nice praise.

Here is what Marchand said about Wahlstrom:

"I've talked to him already. He's excited. We're excited to have him. He's a really good player. I've always really liked his game. I think he will fit the team well."

Based on Marchand's comments, he is clearly happy that the Bruins are taking a shot on Wahlstrom. The Bruins captain's goal will be to help the 2018 first-round pick get used to the Bruins' system and culture from here.

In 27 games this season, Wahlstrom has two goals, four points, 18 blocks, and a minus-6 rating.
