The field for the 2017 All-Star Race is set and it includes Clint Bowyer, Ryan Blaney, Daniel Suarez and Chase Elliott.

The winners of all three stages and the fan vote were the drivers who earned a chance to run in the All-Star Race. When a driver won a stage, he got to spend the rest of the race watching.

Bowyer started on the pole and won the first stage of the three-race All-Star Race qualifying race on Saturday night. Blaney won stage two and Suarez won the 10-lap final stage. Elliott, who tried to take the lead from Suarez throughout the final stage, won the fan vote to get the 20th and final spot in the All-Star Race that begins later in the evening.

The race’s drama came in the final stage. Landon Cassill started the stage in first after he took two tires on a pit stop. But he immediately got spun by Elliott right after the green flag.

Then with four laps to go Erik Jones got a huge run on Elliott and Suarez who were side-by-side for the lead off Turn 4. Jones had nowhere to go and got his left tires in the grass as he tried to pass the two in the tri-oval. Because of the front splitter on Jones’ car (and all Cup Series cars), the grass ruined his front fender and the damage caused him to spin in Turn 1.

Kyle Larson will start the All-Star Race on the pole.
