Boston Bruins Assign Matt Poitras To Providence Bruins
The Boston Bruins announced they have assigned forward Matt Poitras to their AHL affiliate Providence Bruins.
Poitras has one goals and four points in 14 games this season.
The 54th overall selection in the 2022 draft, Poitras stepped into the NHL last season at 19-years-old and notched five goals and 15 points in 33 games. He also recorded four points in five games with Team Canada at the World Junior Championship.
Poitras has played up and down the Boston lineup this season and has posted good underlying numbers but was not given much powerplay time or extended looks with the team's top players.
The 20-year-old has yet to play an AHL game in his career, he will likely jump into a top-six role and be given the opportunity to play in all situations.
