Boston Boys Return Home As Sharks Visit Bruins
While Macklin Celebrini didn't grow up in Boston, he attended Boston University. Will Smith is a Boston native who attended Boston College. Henry Thrun is a Boston area native who attended Harvard. Collin Graf is also a native of the area. Head coach Ryan Warsofsky and GM Mike Grier are both Massachusetts natives.

The Boston Sharks had quite the homecoming yesterday as they practiced at the Boston Bruins' home, TD Garden.
One of the most eventful practices that I've been to in a while.
Zdeno Chara was here, visiting old coach Doug Houda. Chara & Celebrini also chatted for a while.
Warsofsky's prep school team Cushing Academy visited, they got a locker room tour & pics with Smith/Celebrini.

Smith, Celebrini, and Thrun have played at TD Garden before during the traditional Beanpot tournament. Smith and Celebrini played against each other last season. Boston University and Macklin Celebrini would defeat Will Smith and Boston College 4-3.
Celebrini scored twice in that game, and Smith had one assist.
As for the NHL game today, the Sharks and Bruins are dealing with tons of injuries.
#NHLBruins notes from Sacco:
- Korpisalo starts in net
- Frederic is out with an illness, Wahlstrom will take his place next to Elias Lindholm and Vinni Lettieri
- Poitras will center Marchand and Coyle
- McAvoy, Hampus Lindholm and Koepke are all still out with injuries.— Andrew Fantucchio (@A_Fantucchio) January 20, 2025
The San Jose Sharks have had many players in the locker room sick, so the lineup has changed. Timothy Liljegren and Yaroslav Askarov both return from illness.

Marc-Edouard Vlasic will miss the game due to an illness he played through against the New York Islanders. Nikolai Kovalenko was activated from injured reserve but won't play.
Arguably, the Sharks' most significant loss is Tyler Toffoli. The forward will miss his second straight game due to a lower-body injury. Warsofsky has told reporters that he thinks he's day-to-day.
Askarov will start.
All the Boston kids, Will Smith, Collin Graf & Henry Thrun will play. Their first NHL games at TD Garden.
Liljegren will come back in.
Kovalenko will be activated off IR, but he won't play. Toffoli & Vlasic are out too.— Sheng Peng (@Sheng_Peng) January 20, 2025
Lineups will become official right after pregame warmups, which are scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m. PT.
