Borussia Dortmund one of the teams considering signing Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford on loan
David Ornstein from the Athletic reports that Borussia Dortmund are interested in bringing Manchester United winger Marcus Rashford to the club on loan.
Dortmund face competition from AC Milan, Juventus as well as teams from the Premier League whilst it also cannot be ruled out that Rashford stays at United this month.
What may prove an issue is Rashford’s salary, the other teams that are interested have more financial clout and will be able to afford the majority of his £325k per week, Dortmund would likely need help paying it, which is against United’s desires as they would like most of the salary covered.
United can look at the success of Jadon Sancho’s six-month spell at Signal Iduna Park last season where he revived his career and was able to move on to Chelsea where he has had success.
The positive for Dortmund is that Rashford can be the replacement for Donyell Malen who is close to joining Aston Villa. On his day, the 27-year-old will even prove a big upgrade to Malen and has the possibility to take Dortmund’s attack to the next level. But this seems like too smart a decision for Dortmund and they would instead blow the €25-30m from the Malen deal on the likes of Ritsu Doan or Patrick Wimmer.
