Borussia Dortmund confirm Niko Kovač as new head coach

Borussia Dortmund have confirmed the arrival of new head coach Niko Kovač.

Kovač was revealed to be the new man in charge at Signal Iduna Park last night by sporting director Lars Ricken.

But the morning after their win over Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League, Dortmund have made his appointment official.

A statement via their social media on Thursday said that Kovaċ will start his role on Sunday, after their game with Heidenheim.

The former Bayern Munich boss has penned a deal to summer 2026.

Kovač has been out of work for almost a year, having been sacked by Wolfsburg in March 2024.
