Manchester City have received formal contact from Borussia Dortmund to explore the possibility of signing Academy centre-back talent, Max Alleyne.

Much of the conversation surrounding the Premier League champions over the ongoing January transfer window has centred around arrivals and particularly within the defensive ranks of Pep Guardiola’s side.

Following struggles in the rearguard throughout the course of the first-half of the campaign, Manchester City are unsurprisingly eyeing improvements to their options and are targeting deals for both Lens’ Abdukodir Khusanov and Palmeiras’ Vitor Reis.

Both players are expected to come straight into the Etihad Stadium first-team squad, should deals be completed and talks are ongoing from the part of Manchester City to understand what it would take from a financial perspective to secure agreements as soon as possible.

But while there is plenty of conversation on the incomings front, there remains significant talk around potential outgoings for some of the club’s most highly-rated talents, and the latest report links the Academy with an exit in the centre-back position.

That is according to the information of transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano, who reveals that Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund have now made approach to Manchester City to explore a potential deal for 19-year-old centre-back talent, Max Alleyne.

While it is also pointed out within the report that other Premier League clubs are also keen on the teenage defender, Dortmund are already on the case and contacts are ongoing in order to understand the conditions of a possible deal.

This is a developing story. More to follow.
