Boise State running back Jeremy McNichols announced Monday he was skipping his senior season to enter the NFL draft.

McNichols has been a workhorse for the Broncos this season, rushing for 1,663 yards, which is the third-highest single-season total for the Broncos. His 2,185 all-purpose yards is 174 yards short of Jay Ajayi’s school single-season mark set in 2014. McNichols also has 27 total touchdowns entering Tuesday’s Cactus Bowl against Baylor just two shy of Western Kentucky’s Anthony Wales, who leads the nation.

Overall, McNichols posted nine 100-yard rushing games in 2016 and a Boise State-record three 200-yard rushing efforts. McNichols also leads all Mountain West backs in receptions (32) and receiving yards (450).
