Boca Juniors offer deal for Paredes as Roma identify Frattesi alternative
Boca Juniors have reportedly come forward with a proposal for Roma midfielder Leandro Paredes, and the Giallorossi have identified an another midfielder on the transfer market following on from their interest in Italy international Davide Frattesi.
According to reports from Calciomercato.com, Boca Juniors have offered a deal to Argentina international Paredes, who is a boyhood fan of the club, regularly attends matches as a supporter and even has the club’s crest as a tattoo.
Sunday’s report claims that the Argentinian outfit has offered Paredes a deal worth around €2m per season, which is roughly half of what he currently earns on his Giallorossi contract.
Calciomercato claim that there are a number of reasons why the deal is unlikely to go through at this stage: Largely because the midfielder has a clause for an automatic contract extension in his current deal, which will become active if Paredes features in 50% of Roma’s matches this season, or if the team qualifies for either the Europa or Champions League.
Roma identify alternative option to Frattesi
Meanwhile, Roma have also identified a new midfield target. Davide Frattesi remains the preferred option, but he is expected to cost somewhere in the region of €45m, which would make life fairly complicated for the Giallorossi.
A more affordable alternative comes in the form of 22-year-old Rocco Reitz from Bundesliga outfit Borussia Mönchengladbach. Calciomercato claims that the Germany U21 star is likely to cost somewhere in the region of €15m-€20m.
