And we have seen a pretty positive tone with the tsx up about 2 tenths of a percent. The s&p and nasdaq with a stronger showing. A lot of this is the strong quarterly results from nvidia and encouraging outlook from the ai chip darling that is pushing the U.S. markets back towards a record territory here. Nvidia, not just the revenue were course, but also some real profit power for the company. A huge operating margins. Actual talk a little bit later in the program that just how big those margins are and how it compares to the rest activists. And 70, tech optimism seems to be offsetting one of the concerns that was wading through the market yesterday afternoon. The idea based on latest fed minutes the U.S. federal reserve given some of the inflation challenges will have to continue to push out. And plans for a pivot towards rate cuts in this country. Of course, that the bank of canada is increasingly expected to cut rates at some point soon, if not in july, we saw some encouraging inflation trends this week that might lend support for that. In terms of the individual stocks we're watching in canadian trading today. I do want to check in on a td bank to start with the shares are higher. The adjusted earnings in the latest quarter beat the average analyst estimate one could argue that the quarterly results, which were helped by higher than expected capital markets revenue were overshadowed by ongoing investigations. Really too a money-laundering concerns in the united states bank's ceo on there called a talked about how they're hoping to reach some kind of resolution soon on the matter notable call, a section of all of our opening bell lends itself towards power corporation and waste connections. Both received thumbs up from analysts to cover in the case of power, scotiabank thinks that the company is well positioned for the next decade ahead. They had some favourable comments that's helping the stock a little bit this morning. Waste connections cried to. Fresh coverage from the research team at deutsche we know that a lot of the waste management companies have been. A popular with investors. Pretty steady eddie businesses and so do h-bank joining the list of firms. That's fairly constructive on that business. Let's also check in with jeff morgan from the bloomberg team has been tracking a number of other stocks this morning. Dupont's, one of the names on your watch list today. Yeah, dupont to investors and analysts alike really like to their plan for that. They announced last night after markets closed. >> To split into 3 publicly traded companies, the stock jumped about 5%. The the futures did in the premarket trading this morning. Analysts really like the idea. And so what this company is doing splitting its water business into one company that will be publicly traded its electronics business into another battle be publicly traded. And then then things that we normally think about when we think about dupont, that's lar. That's the type that crops that you see around new construction projects that will be in the 3rd business. And so those will continue. And that's again, what we normally think about when we see dupont shares were up about 5%. It's headed when I left my desk, it was it was headed up at the open here today. This is a chemicals company that in, you know, in recent months has been a primarily in the news with some of these forever peers and and so today we have some some fresh news on it being split into 3 international paper's another one on your watchlist today. Jeff, what's going on with that business? This is one that there were some deal speculation >> You know, talked about its intention or it's a desire to acquire it. The company come out and kind of push that aside. It has a new ceo this morning. Analysts are positive on the stock. So the stock really saw a lot of action yesterday and might potentially see more today as well. It was a pre market and again, you know, some of the side speculation that it might be a might be acquired. And analysts so far like in the new direction from the new ceo this morning. So want to watch definitely today, international paper and probably some of the paper and packagin peers as well. If there is a a acquisitive from out there and says, I know that is looking kicking tires in the space. All right, the biggest one to watch today would to appear to be. >> Nvidia, with the move world

have seen today seems rally more than 100% so far this year. >> Yes, exactly. We're at 90% as of the close last night, we had about 7% premarket. And so now we are very right at that, that point where it and nvidia, you know, this is the one to watch today. It's really driving the bus after the 1st quarter results yesterday and 2nd quarter guidance, this company guided too much better than expected. 2nd quarter. I'm and I'm counting 6 price target boost on this stock this morning. So it is up sharply at the open. It was up sharply last night aftermarket sharply premarket. So now we're looking at a stock that is nearly double a really what's one of the magnificent 7 stocks in the u.s.. Those tech stocks and that have really, perform this year. Expectation was 28 billion dollars or sorry, it's doing 28 billion dollars in revenue. It expects in the 2nd quarter of this year, which is well ahead of analyst expectations. The margins are better than expected. You the growth in the stock is really, really, you know, sharp. And as a result, you are seeing those tech-heavy index is in the performing the s&p 500 and of course, the nasdaq, 100 this morning. Another record for that pretty amazing run thanks very much, jeff. Well, looks like we're seeing some fresh records in the united states this morning. Of course, our canadian market not too far away from record territory was there earlier this week for one of the cattle was this morning to get the nasdaq into all-time high territory is nvidia, the ai chip maker with those very strong quarterly results. Tech certainly is one of the big themes of the market rally this year, but it's not the only theme recently. We've seen a broadening out of interest in a whole host of sectors. Let's get some insight now carol slight chief investment officer at bmo family office and carol, nice to have you with us again. So start with the enthusiasm today in the tech sector fuelled by nvidia. What do you make the current to ai excitement in the market? >> Do think excitement is legitimate and it's in very early stages and it's not just artificial intelligence itself. It's all of the other things as you're alluding to, hat it's touching in our economy and and globally. And it's important for investors to remember that artificial intelligence isn't new as that headlines seem like it is, development, if you will, for a decade or more, especially in a lot of companies. We are now at the point, given all of that research deployment really being able to, leverage and move learning curve quickly for a lot of different industries. And that's impacting so with a tech you've seen recently of a piece of that, you're seeing both sides of it will spending on chips, but also spending on data centres and takes very deep pockets to deploy that you're also seeing artificial intelligence to point and alluded to a among those companies generate massive amounts of data think health care industries think we'll industries think logistics, think retail everything it touches. >> I the the, the, the remains that way until it does into, I guess. >> You know, for for for investors who see all the headlines around a business like nvidia after the stock
