While the St. Louis Blues’ summer with the Cup is winding down, Rob Thomas fans of all genres got to witness worlds colliding on Sunday night.
Rob Thomas, the Stanley Cup Champion, surprised fans onstage at Grammy Award winning musician Rob Thomas’ concert at the Stifel Theatre in St. Louis.

Blues’ rookie forward Thomas had been the object of a lot of Twitter jokes since being drafted by the club 20th overall in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft.

Thomas is entering his sophomore NHL season after a fairly successful debut. He netted 9 goals and 24 assists throughout 70 regular season games, and another 6 points in the Blues’ postseason run.
Thomas was on the receiving end of one of the biggest hits of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, one that Twitter fans were quick to make the musical connection to.
