Blues Prospect Report: Robertsson Has Breakout Game For Springfield, Trying To Gain Traction In Injury-Plagued Season
Simon Robertsson's first year in North America has been challenging to say the least.
Not so much from a downside in play but more so from a physical standpoint of staying healthy.
Robertsson, a third-round pick in the 2021 NHL Draft, displayed the tools of being a very versatile player for the Blues, at prospect camp, then the prospect showcase, and in the main training camp.
The 21-year-old had himself a game on Sunday for the Springfield Thunderbirds in a 3-1 win against the Hartford Wolfpack, scoring twice and assisting on another:

It was Robertsson's first multi-point game with Springfield, but he's played in just 12 games this season; he had an upper-body injury that limited him in Blues training camp and at the start of the American Hockey League season, then missed two weeks in November before missing another month with a lower-body injury.
What a wonderful statement game from both Simon Robertsson and Colten Ellis. They were studs today. https://t.co/mLAlMD2a6J

Since Robertsson returned to the Thunderbirds lineup on Dec. 22, he's played in six games and has six points (two goals, four assists), including his big game that fueled the Thunderbirds on Sunday to their second win in as many days. The six points have come the past five games.
Robertsson could be a wild card addition to Springfield's offense and lineup moving forward if he can just stay healthy, because he's a hard-nosed worker with skill to match.
Stay tuned.
* Tomas Mrsic -- We haven't followed along as much due to the following of nine Blues prospects at the 2025 IIHF World Junior Championship, but it's almost gotten to the point that if Mrsic is not involved in the scoring for Prince Albert of the Western Hockey League, something would seem off.
But the 2024 fourth-round pick continues to blaze an offensive path. Since we last checked in with the forward, he has put up 13 points in eight games (five goals, eight assists), including two goals and an assist on Saturday:

The 18-year-old is now up to 52 points (23 goals, 29 assists) in 39 games this season, leading the team in goals and one off of leading the team in points; he's also third on the team in assists. Mrsic is first on the Raiders with 13 power play goals and second in power play assists with 15.
* Juraj Pekarcik -- There was no lack of confidence for the 2023 third-round pick when he returned from the World Juniors playing for Slovakia.
The forward returned to Moncton of the QMJHL and has put up four goals and an assist in four games, including a hat trick on Saturday in a 6-5 loss against Rouyn-Noranda:

Pekarcik, after putting up seven points (three goals, four assists) in five games for Slovakia, now has 40 points (16 goals, 24 assists) in 33 games for a very sound Wildcats side that has the best overall record in the league.
* Jakub Stancl -- Welcome back to the leading goal scorer of the World Junior Champoinship.
After guiding Czechia to a bronze medal for the second straight year and doing so with a tournament-leading seven goals in seven games (tied for second in points with 10), Stancl picked up where he left off for Kelowna of the WHL.
The 2023 fourth-round pick returned with a vengeance for the Rockets on Friday with a five-point game, including his second hat trick of the season in a 6-3 win against Prince George, including the hat trick goal that was a beauty from the left circle:

Stancl also scored on Saturday in a 6-4 loss against Vancouver, but now has eight points (five goals, three assists) in his past four games with the team and 19 points (six goals, 13 assists) his past 10 games. He now leads the team in goals (15) and points (38) while second in assists (23) in just 28 games in a terrific first season in North America.

* Jimmy Snuggerud -- Another 'Snuggy' snipe? Sure, why not?
The 2022 first-round pick (No. 23) continues to thrive at the University of Minnesota when he had a goal and an assist in helping No. 3 Minnesota to a split of a weekend series against No. 11 Ohio State, winning winning 6-1 on Saturday after falling 5-1 on Friday.
Snuggerud scored this one-timer from what will one day be his office with the Blues:

Saturday was his third two-point game the past four giving him three goals and three assists in that time and earning at least a point in seven of the past eight games (five goals, five assists).
He now has 30 points (12 goals, 18 assists) in 24 games and is third in scoring in NCAA Division I hockey.
Snuggerud was able to take in a game when the Blues faced the Minnesota Wild on Tuesday, perhaps getting to know some of his future teammates in the process:

* Quinton Burns -- Maybe it was a feeling of being snubbed, but the 2023 third-round pick has not only become a shutdown defenseman (plus-30 in 39 games) for Kingston of the Ontario Hockey League, but the 19-year-old has turned it up a notch in the scoring department as well.
Burns scored on Sunday for the Frontenacs in a wild 10-6 loss against Sudbury giving him five points (two goals, three assists) the past four games and three of his six goals this season have come in the past six games.
* Dalibor Dvorsky -- Last, but certainly not least, fresh off his terrific performance at the World Junior for Slovakia (five goals, four assists in seven games), the 2023 first-round pick (No. 10), who was named to the AHL All-Star Game in Coachella Valley in February as Springfield's lone representative, scored in his first game in nearly three weeks:

Won't that wrister from the right circle look good for St. Louis one day? Sort of reminds you of Vladimir Tarasenko's in his heyday doesn't it?
