Blue Jays-Yankees drama rages on as Aaron Boone calls Pete Walker 'f---ing crazy'

Here we go again with another chapter of what was a chaotic series between the Toronto Blue Jays and New York Yankees at Rogers Centre.

After a relatively quiet Wednesday night, aside from Danny Jansen’s walk-off home run, the feud between the two clubs continued on Thursday. And this time, the drama revolved around Yankees manager Aaron Boone and Blue Jays pitching coach Pete Walker.

As José Berríos walked into the Blue Jays’ dugout following a scoreless fifth inning, YES Network cameras caught Boone yelling at Walker, saying, “You’re f***ing crazy. You’re crazy. Sit the f**k down, man.”

But Walker was far calmer from across the diamond, brushing off Boone’s comments while dismissing him with his right hand. And it appears that was the end of their dispute.

This four-game series, of course, featured as many twists and turns as a reality TV show. Like any quality form of entertainment, each contest kept everyone on the edge of their seat, proving to be unpredictable all week.

Tuesday’s showdown was the main event and included a bit of everything. Yankees starter Domingo German was ejected — and issued a 10-game suspension — for using an illegal substance. The Blue Jays and Yankees also argued over where coaches should stand in foul territory, and Toronto manager John Schneider called New York assistant hitting coach Brad Wilkerson a “fat boy.”

Not to mention, 2022 AL MVP Aaron Judge broke the maple leaf in the WestJet Flight Deck with his 430-foot home run to straightaway centre field.

Then there was Monday’s opener, which sparked this heated rivalry after the Yankees possibly relayed signs to Jake Bauers and Judge in the eighth inning with Toronto reliever Jay Jackson — who later admitted that he was tipping his pitches — in the game. As a result, Judge got some assistance in blasting his second round-tripper of that contest.

When all was said and done, the Yankees won the heated series 3-1 thanks to a 4-2 victory in the finale. Needless to say, it is a shame the Blue Jays and Yankees won’t meet again until late September.
