Blue Jackets Listening To Offers On Defence Prospect
According to numerous NHL insiders, the Blue Jackets are listening to offers on David Jiříček.
On the latest episode of 32 Thoughts the Podcast, Elliotte Friedman confirmed that the Blue Jackets are open to trading Jiříček and are actively listening to offers on the young blue liner.
Elliotte Friedman on 32 Thoughts this morning says he heard some rumors that teams around the NHL thought #CBJ were “getting close” to trading David Jiricek this past weekend.
Friedman pushed back claiming Jiricek wouldn’t have played in Cleveland on Sat. if that were the case.— The CBJ Center (@CBJcenter) November 25, 2024
Friedman stated that he believes Columbus has their eyes set on a specific return.
"Columbus is looking for a young player similar in return."
He would also mention that he doesn't think that the Edmonton Oilers have what it takes to match the deal.
As for teams that he sees as a fit, he mentioned the Nashville Predators as a potential suitor since they have a surplus of younger players within their organization.

It may not happen by the end of the calendar year, but it seems like the Blue Jackets will look to move on from Jiříček.
