Blue Jackets Beat Blues To Win Second Straight Road Game; Fourth Straight Overall

Adam Fantilli(10) and Cole Sillinger(7) provided the offense for the CBJ, and Jet Greaves was outstanding, making 31 saves in a 2-1 Jackets win on Saturday night in St. Louis.

There's just something about this Columbus Blue Jackets team right now. They've now won two straight on the road, both in arenas that they typically NEVER win in: St. Louis and Pittsburgh. They've also won four straight games and are 7-2-1 in the last 10. The Blue Jackets are the hottest team in the Metro. To top it off, they have the 7th best points percentage in the Eastern Conference. All this while missing several regulars due to injury.

On Saturday night, the Jackets went into Enterprise Center and held the Blues scoreless for 59 minutes and 48 seconds. They needed 12 more seconds to secure Jet Greaves's first career shutout. St. Louis would dash those dreams with a very late power-play goal to bring the game to within a single goal. Luckily, there was very little time left for the Blues to complete a comeback.

Adam Fantilli, who played just over 16 minutes and scored a goal, now has a five-game point streak. He has three goals and three assists and is a plus-5 in those five games. The Jackets hope he takes full advantage of the top center minutes with Sean Monahan out.

Cole Sillinger scored what would be the game-winner late in the second period. Sillinger now has points in three of his last four games. His brother Owen also scored a game-winner for the Cleveland Monsters on Saturday night as well.

This marks the Jackets' second game straight in St. Louis that has been a low scoring. They shut out the Blues in their last visit to St. Louis last season by a score of 1-0.

The Columbus Blue Jackets showed last night that they can grind out a win 2-1, or blow teams out 6-2. This was a good team win.
