Blow For Inter Milan – Two Key Players Out Of Champions League Squad Vs Bayer Leverkusen
Denzel Dumfries and Francesco Acerbi will miss Inter Milan’s Champions League clash with Bayer Leverkusen, while Tajon Buchanan is in the squad.
This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews. They report that Dumfries has pulled out of the squad due to illness, while Acerbi is still recovering from a thigh strain.
Inter take on Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League tomorrow.
The Nerazzurri squad are travelling to Germany for the match today.
And Inter coach Simone Inzaghi has some mixed news concerning his squad ahead of the showdown with the Germany champions.
Dumfries & Acerbi Out Vs Leverkusen – Buchanan In The Squad
The big news is that Inter wingback Dumfries will not be in the squad tomorrow.
The Dutchman is not travelling with the squad today.
The reason for Dumfries’s absence is flu-like symptoms.
It is unfortunately the time of year when respiratory viruses are spreading around. Inter captain Lautaro Martinez had previously missed last month’s Serie A clash with Hellas Verona.
And Dumfries will not be able to play a part tomorrow.
Meanwhile, defender Acerbi is also not travelling with the squad. He is staying back to work on recovering from his thigh strain.
Acerbi is nearly back to full fitness. But he is not quite ready, and Inter coach Simone Inzaghi is not risking the veteran Italian international.
On a more positive note, wingback Tajon Buchanan is in the Inter squad travelling to Germany.
The Canadian has been dealing with slight muscle fatigue. However, this has not stopped him from travelling, although he will just be on the bench to start tomorrow.
