Blackhawks' Hall Addresses Pospisil's Hit on Him

Martin Pospisil has made a name for himself in the NHL by playing physically and playing hard. That doesn't always come clean though as he has become an enemy of the Chicago Blackhawks when they play the Calgary Flames.

There has been more than once incident this season involving Pospisil and the Blackhawks and Taylor Hall, a victim of a hit in the teams' last game against each other, addressed the situation and Pospisil.

Hall stated that, "It wasn't a great hit. I don't like the position that I put myself in, but sometimes when your back is facing the play, it's actually safer spot to be in because guys know not to hit you or whatever it may be...So I don't think he should've hit me, but he's a young guy trying to make his mark in the league and I understand it's a fast game at times. So it is what it is."

While taking a little responsibility and knowing it's a fast game and playing receiving hits sometimes put themselves in bad positions, he also recognizes that Pospisil didn't have to make that type of hit, even if he is playing for a job and ice time every game.

When asked if there's been conversation about what's going to happen when the team sees Pospisil again, Hall also said, "Yeah. I think now yeah. (Donato) fought him the game in Calgary, so he kind of faced his retribution for that hit. Mine in particular he got kicked out, so there's not much you can do. I don't know if he'll be playing the next time we see him or what, so for sure he'll be a name that's circled on the game sheet and try to exact a little revenge by playing hard and playing smart."

Players normally just have to answer one time for each play they make that the other team doesn't like, but in Pospisil's case, he is a repeat offender against the Blackhawks in particular. Players don't forget that when a certain player continues to play a certain way against your team.

The problem here is that while Hall says that Pospisil's name will be circled on the game sheet, the veteran will very likely not be a part of that moving forward. The Blackhawks and Flames already played each other three times this season and play no more during the regular season. Chicago is in last place in the NHL and aren't going to make the playoffs while even Calgary is fighting extremely hard to hold a playoff spot at the halfway point of the season.

There is a very high chance that Hall is traded this season, so he won't be on the Blackhawks next season when Chicago faces the Flames in a rivalry that is starting to form. The rest of the team won't forget, but it is a long while away regardless.

The Blackhawks have to shift focus to the rest of the season and start to play better and have to forget about Pospisil for now.
