Blackburn Rovers goalkeeper Alex Brooks has signed a new one-year contract with the club ahead of the 2024/2025 season.

The Lancashire club announced the news via a post on their official club X account late last night

Brooks joined Blackburn Rovers in summer 2020 following a spell with Birmingham City. The 29-year-old keeper has gone on to make the number one jersey her own in her time at Ewood Park.

Brooks has made 68 appearances for Blackburn Rovers in the Barclays Women’s Championship over the last four seasons. The player was an ever-present for Simon Parker’s side last season. In her 22 appearances in the Barclays Women’s Championship in 2023/2024, Brooks kept eight clean sheets. The player was just two clean sheets short of securing a share of the league’s Golden Glove award.

Now more than a decade into her senior playing career, Brooks is an experienced figure in the Blackburn Rovers squad and she will be a key player for the club again this season after signing her contract extension.

Brooks is the first player to commit her immediate future to Blackburn Rovers this summer. The club are expected to announce a number of other deals in the coming weeks with the new season now less than two months away.
