Blackburn Rovers defender Jade Richards has announced the news that she is leaving the club this summer.

The player took to her personal X account to announce her Blackburn Rovers exit this afternoon.

Richards has spent the last four seasons with Blackburn Rovers. She has made 72 appearances for the club in the Barclays Women’s Championship in which she has scored six goals. The player has shown her quality in both boxes and has established herself as a firm ‘fans’ favourite’.

The defender has been a rock in the Blackburn Rovers side but she has now determined it to be the right time to move on.

Announcing her Blackburn Rovers departure, Richards said “Now’s the right time to officially announce my departure from the club I’ve called home for the last four seasons.

“Closing this chapter and making this decision was far from easy for so many reasons.

“I will cherish my time in the blue and white forever with no regrets, knowing that I gave my all every time I wore the badge.

“Thanks to my teammates, coaches, fans and everyone else that I have encountered on my Rovers journey. It has been a pleasure!”

Richards becomes the 14th player to leave Blackburn Rovers this summer.
