‘BLACK, WHITE & MORE’: Juventus' new ESG strategy with a focus on disability

Today, 3 December, is International Day of People with Disabilities.

Juventus' commitment in this field has been constant and unwavering for some time and aims to unhinge “biases” and prejudices, raising awareness among an increasingly broader public thanks to its importance given by fans and, more generally, by the football world. In our opinion, disability is not a limitation, but one of the many possible human conditions and should not impede anyone in reaching their dreams and goals.

It's a commitment that has its foundations on this principle, and that from the beginning has involved the Club in its entirety, putting many small pieces in place that seek to raise awareness and bring tangible improvements: from the new identity of the Juventus One Paralympic team to social inclusion projects and dedicated initiatives to increase accessibility and improve the matchday experience at the Allianz Stadium.

These different pieces are now part of the Club's new ESG strategy, ‘Black, White & More’, which will be presented on 17 December ahead of the Coppa Italia Frecciarossa match between Juventus and Cagliari. The event will include a focus on disability, highlighting the Club’s commitment and other national and international initiatives that promote inclusivity. It will also be a moment of confrontation, enriched by the testimonies of stakeholders with disabilities, to listen to experiences and collect feedback useful to strengthen Juventus' commitment on accessibility and inclusion.

“Only through a collective commitment to inclusion can we guarantee every individual the opportunity to actively participate and feel an integral part of our Club,” said Greta Bodino, Chief People, Culture & Sustainability Officer of Juventus. “Football, and sport in general, has a unique power: to unite people and promote values of fairness and respect. It is this potential that we need to focus on in order to make real progress towards a more inclusive society.”

From this premise comes the name ‘Black, White & More’, which is intended to metaphorically depict the combination of Black and White - the Club's distinctive colours - which are reinforced with the value of a commitment that embraces social, environmental and governance aspects, to contribute to a more inclusive and sustainable future, capable of breaking down any barriers.
