When you upset Kansas, the number one team in the country, you do what you want. That includes storming the court. But sometimes the court storms can get out of hand, and Jayhawks coach Bill Self is thankful that Missouri Tigers head coach Dennis Gates didn't allow it to.

On Sunday, Kansas dropped its second game in a week thanks to a massive performance from Missouri guard Tamar Bates. Bates scored 29 points on 60 percent shooting and also had five steals. After such a rousing performance, Missouri students were ready to storm the court and nearly did it too early, but Dennis Gates called a timeout just before it happened.

Gates' decision allowed the Kansas players enough time to get out of the way and avoid potential injuries. That choice was not lost on Bill Self, who thanked Gates postgame, saying, "Usually I'm the one that calls the timeout and just tells the guy to stay on the sidelines. But that was a classy move by Dennis. I mean, let's just call it like it is. That was a class move."
