This Bill Belichick UNC contract twist is great news for NFL teams
Bill Belichick has seemed to make it clear that he's not leaving his new home at North Carolina for the NFL.
But the buzz about him pulling the same move he made from the New York Jets to the New England Patriots hasn't gone away. And now, per a new report, it's going to get louder.
Per CBS Sports: "Sources tell CBS Sports — and UNC confirmed this week — that there is no fully-executed and signed contract between Belichick and UNC. And industry sources say that could lead to a legal gray area about how much, if any, of a buyout there would be if Belichick left for the pros."
Apparently, Belichick has only signed the "term sheet proposal" and not the full contract, which isn't actually out of the ordinary -- Sherrone Moore officially signed his contract with Michigan after coaching two games without one.
So this isn't going to help with all the NFL talk, and North Carolina GM Michael Lombardi continues to deny Belichick is focused on anything but recruiting right now.
Bill is recruiting in DC today and Baltimore tomorrow. His focus is on North Carolina football, hiring staff members and developing the team. The NFL isnt a option so please stop making it one. Thank you. https://t.co/Z5sRAcYOCB
