The Bill Belichick era at Chapel Hill is officially underway. So who will he face in his first season at North Carolina?

After days of speculation, North Carolina signed the six-time Super Bowl winning head coach as the next person to be in charge of its football program on a five-year deal.

It is quite the jump to go from the coach of the New England Patriots and playing at places like Gillette Stadium, Lambeau Field and Arrowhead Stadium to now going to the ACC. Belichick won't coach his first game for the Tar Heels for some time − eight months to be exact − but it's not too early to see who he will face in his first season at North Carolina.

Who will Bill Belichick face in first game at North Carolina?

Bill Belichick's first game at North Carolina will be at home against the TCU Horned Frogs on Aug. 30, 2025.

Who does North Carolina play in 2025?

All 12 of North Carolina's opponents for the 2025 season are known, but only four have confirmed dates. The Tar Heels will play four non-conference games against TCU, Charlotte, Richmond and UCF − dates already announced − along with eight ACC games. Where those ACC games will be played have been determined, but the dates will be released in the future.

One notable game to look forward to will be when Clemson visits North Carolina, and we get Belichick vs. Dabo Swinney. For road conference games, Belichick's team will visit California, NC State, Syracuse and Wake Forest.
