Big honors (again) for a Mizzou football player + TV info for Tigers-Aggies game

Missouri running back Nate Noel rushed for 199 yards on 24 carries Saturday, dragging a stagnant offense behind him the whole way.

Noel’s efficient day not only led then-No. 7 Mizzou to a 30-27 double-overtime win over Vanderbilt, but it also earned him his first Southeastern Conference Co-Offensive Player of the Week honor Monday.

The SEC recognized Noel after the Appalachian State transfer broke his previous personal-best performance of 193 yards, which he recorded in the Mountaineers’ 43-28 win over East Carolina on Sept. 16, 2023.

His day against Vanderbilt marked the 16th time in his career he eclipsed the 100-yard plateau (and second time this season).

Noel has 441 yards on the ground this season, good for 10th in the country and third in the SEC. Arkansas redshirt Ja’Quinden Jackson (472) and Tennessee junior Dylan Sampson (449) are the only SEC running backs with more yards than Noel.

Noel shared the weekly award with LSU quarterback Garrett Nussmeier, who completed 32-of-44 passes for 352 yards and three touchdowns in his team’s 34-17 home win over UCLA.

Tigers’ Week 6 game vs. Texas A&M to air on ABC

No. 11 Missouri’s road game against No. 24 Texas A&M at 11 a.m. Oct. 5 in College Station, Texas, will be broadcast on ABC, the SEC announced Monday.

It will be the first broadcast of the season featuring Missouri that will not air on the SEC Network or SEC Network+.

Mizzou is off this week.
