Italian journalist Fabrizio Biasin has stressed that Joshua Zirkzee is the primary target for AC Milan this summer even though there are so many links to Romelu Lukaku.

Speaking during Tutti Convocati on Radio 24 (via Milan News), Biasin explained the situation concerning Milan and their hunt to replace Olivier Giroud.

It has been clear for a long time that Zirkzee is the player Milan want but with the agent’s commissions causing a problem and the increased reported interest in Lukaku, some have wondered whether Milan are giving up on Zirkzee.

According to Biasin, the links to Lukaku are coming more from the player’s side, rather than from Milan themselves.

“Lukaku-Milan rumours? I think it’s more a need for Lukaku and his entourage to find a solution, rather than an interest from AC Milan whose Plan A we know is Zirkzee,” Biasin said.

Chelsea want to sell Lukaku permanently this summer after two loan spells away from the club. The player himself knows there is no future at Chelsea and he has been keen on signing for another Italian club, a country he clearly likes living in.

It is thought that Chelsea would want around €40m for the Belgian and then he is likely to demand €7.5m per season in wages, which would make him one of the highest earners in the team.
