10. Joao Pedro
GW4 fixture: Ipswich (H)
Predicted points: 5.5
Joao Pedro is the most-bought player ahead of FPL Gameweek 4, helped by goals in back to back games and three home fixtures in his next four. He’s completed 90 minutes in his last two games which is encouraging when you consider the strength in Brighton’s attack, plus he’s on penalties.
Opponents Ipswich are without a clean sheet so far this season, conceding seven goals in three, including a 4-1 defeat in their only away trip — though that was against Manchester City.
9. Son Heung-min
GW4 fixture: Arsenal (H)
Predicted points: 5.5
The North London Derby looks to be a difficult fixture for Tottenham to manage on paper but they do have the home advantage in this game. Arsenal also have Declan Rice unavailable through suspension and Martin Odegaard sustained an ankle injury on international duty with Norway.
Son Heung-min has already scored a brace in his only home appearance this season which ended in a 4-0 win against Everton. He is the captain and talisman of this Tottenham side, with penalties in his locker.
8. Andy Robertson
GW4 fixture: Nottingham Forest (H)
Predicted points: 5.5
Andy Robertson is the only defender to make this top 10, with Liverpool hosting Nottingham Forest on Saturday. Liverpool are a key defence to target having not conceded a single goal so far this season.
Robertson has the edge over fellow full-back Trent Alexander-Arnold by 0.1 point, given that he has had two shots on target this season including one big chance. It’s perfectly viable to go for a FPL throwback with both of these players in your team given their current form.
GW4 fixture: Nottingham Forest (H)
Predicted points: 5.6
Sticking with Liverpool, Diogo Jota is one of two attackers in this top 10 for the visit of Nottingham Forest to Anfield. Jota has registered two attacking returns to date, with a goal on the opening weekend against Ipswich and an assist against Brentford.
We are used to seeing Jota substituted between 70 and 80 minutes of each game, with his minutes being managed given his poor fitness record. Not to mention competition for places in the No.9 role with Cody Gakpo and Darwin Nunez.
6. Alexander Isak
GW4 fixture: Wolves (A)
Predicted points: 6.2
Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak is the most-sold player ahead of FPL Gameweek 4. But with only one forward predicted to score more than him going into the weekend’s game, those fire sales look a little rash.
A goal and all three bonus points in the 2-1 win against Tottenham hasn’t slowed down the mass exodus, with his ownership potentially dropping under 40% before the deadline. Opponents Wolves have conceded nine goals from eight big chances on their goal – only Everton have a worse defensive record.
5. Kevin De Bruyne
GW4 fixture: Brentford (H)
Predicted points: 6.3
Kevin De Bruyne has been going under the radar in fantasy circles, but his solid underlying numbers from the opening three gameweeks shouldn’t go unnoticed. He’s had 12 shots on goal as well as 11 key passes, including three big chances created.
The Belgian has been unlucky to only come away with two goal involvements and he carries great potential going forward, with Brentford at home up next. As Erling Haaland’s ownership continues to grow, consider doubling up on the Manchester City attack to gain an edge.
GW4 fixture: Tottenham (A)
Predicted points: 6.6
Despite player availability concerns mounting for Arsenal, Bukayo Saka shouldn’t be overlooked ahead of the trip to Spurs. Saka is one of just four players to deliver a goal involvement in all three games so far this season. However, the next two fixtures make him a tricky hold, with injuries and suspensions amplifying the temptation to sell.
It’s worth noting that Saka excels in this grudge fixture, with goals home and away in the North London Derby last season.
3. Eberechi Eze
GW4 fixture: Leicester (H)
Predicted points: 7.2
Eberechi Eze repaid the faith of his FPL owners last time out, scoring and taking all three bonus points in the 1-1 draw with Chelsea. He’s now up to 15 shots on goal this season, putting him second among all players.
Eze has a significant involvement in the Eagles’ set pieces, including penalties. The fixture couldn’t be better this week, as Crystal Palace entertain promoted Leicester at Selhurst Park. The Foxes have failed to keep a clean sheet so far this season.
2. Mohamed Salah
GW4 fixture: Nottingham Forest (H)
Predicted points: 8.3
Mohamed Salah has started the season in electric form, keeping pace with Erling Haaland in terms of FPL points scored over the opening three gameweeks. He has scored in every single game and also has three assists, showcasing his ability to remain world class in the Arne Slot era.
The Egyptian sits top for big chances created with four and he’s also on penalties for Liverpool. He has scored against Nottingham Forest in each of their previous two meetings at Anfield.
1. Erling Haaland
GW4 fixture: Brentford (H)
Predicted points: 8.7
Back to back hat-tricks for Erling Haaland sees him top of the rankings once again as the best captain pick for FPL Gameweek 4 on 8.7 predicted points for the visit of Brentford. He already looks in control at this early stage in his quest for a third consecutive Golden Boot, with seven goals in four games.
Those returns come from a leading 10 shots in the box and seven big chances, showing that it was no fluke. Haaland got himself on the scoresheet when these two sides last met at the Etihad.
