Best Year Ever: Looking back at Florida Panthers incredible 2024

Fans of the Florida Panthers are probably feeling a tingle of sadness on Tuesday.

That’s because it’s New Year’s Eve, the final day of 2024, and if you’re a Florida Panthers fan, the year 2024 was pretty kind to you.

Now that’s not to say there aren’t additional good times coming up in the future for the Panthers and their followers.

As we’ve discussed many, many times over the past few years, the Panthers are built to last and should be a team that contends for the Stanley Cup for years to come.

And we must also not disparage the years that led up to 2024, which at the time, were some of the best seasons the Panthers franchise had up until that point.

Winning the Presidents’ Trophy and a playoff round in 2022 was incredibly fun, and then reaching the Stanley Cup Final after that insane playoff run in 2023 was spectacular and unrivaled.

Then 2024 arrived.

We knew what the Panthers were capable of, and by the time the calendar flipped from 2023 to 2024, Florida had grown into a fierce competitor full of young, skilled players led by a smart, veteran coaching staff and a front office that continued to make smart and savvy moves.

The NHL All-Star Game in Toronto back in February was fun.

Sergei Bobrovsky and Sam Reinhart represented the Panthers and showed out well on the big stage, but it was more the meaning of the selections and the recognition that came with them that carried the true value for the players and the organization as a whole.

At the end of the day, for all the great things that came during the 12 months of 2024, it was what happened during Florida’s championship run through the Stanley Cup playoffs that has been etched in the memories of so many of us.

The videos below will take you through the Panthers’ playoff run, all the way to their amazing seven-game victory in the Stanley Cup Final.

Happy New Year!
