BEST BET: Stars, Golden Knights Set For Rubber Match In Vegas With Final Regular-Season Clash
We've got an impressive card with some big matchups on Tuesday's card, but I'm going to take a look at the game in my backyard, as the Dallas Stars and Vegas Golden Knights close out their regular-season series.
I'll give you an argument for each side, but my ethical practice as a writer will keep me from making a prediction. Instead, I'll give you my choice with the total, as the Over/Under is enticing after these two just met in Dallas.
Let's do a deep dive into this one:
WHY DALLAS: The Stars arrive on a two-game win streak, including Friday's 4-3 win over these same Golden Knights. To close out a mini two-game road trip that started with a 2-0 win in St. Louis, the Stars would love to return to Dallas for two games with a win over their Western Conference rival. The Stars have fallen eight points back of Winnipeg and now they're holding off the Minnesota Wild and Colorado Avalanche in the Central Division. Dallas is in must-win mode.
WHY VEGAS: The Golden Knights picked up a much-needed on Sunday, knocking off the defending Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers. And it wasn't just the victory over the Panthers as much as it was the way they won. Vegas went through a rough patch, and won't want to slip back into a losing pattern. It has one more home game (on Thursday vs. Columbus) before breaking for the 4 Nations Faceoff, and like Dallas, is in must-win mode right now.

THE PICK: UNDER 6, -115 -- Since Peter DeBoer was fired as coach of the Golden Knights, and took over as bench boss in Dallas, these teams forged quite a rivalry. They've met the last two postseasons, with Vegas eliminating the Stars from the Western Conference Finals in 2023 and then winning the Cup, and Dallas sending the Knights on vacation after taking the first round in 2024. They've met twice this season, the first going under and Friday going over. Dating back, seven of the last 11 have stayed under. The Knights have stayed under in six of 10, while Dallas has stayed low in eight of its last 10 games, with those eight games finishing with no higher than five goals. Look for a tight game that stays under six tonight.
