Ex-Bengals WR Chad Johnson to make boxing debut on Floyd Mayweather-Logan Paul undercard

Former NFL wide receiver Chad Johnson is trying out another sport.

The Cincinnati Bengals star has agreed to an exhibition boxing match as part of the undercard for next month's bout between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Logan Paul, according to ESPN's Cameron Wolfe.

Johnson's opponent reportedly hasn't been finalized yet, but it's expected to be another celebrity or former athlete. The bout will likely be four or six rounds. Johnson confirmed the bout during an episode of his "I AM ATHLETE" podcast published Monday, and indicated he already has a nickname picked out. From ESPN:

"Everything in life I'm good at outside of golf," Johnson said on the podcast. "June 6, 'Sweet Feet Johnson' is going to go in there and do what I do best."

The Mayweather-Paul match was announced last week for June 6. Among the other fights on the undercard will be a rematch between Badou Jack and Jean Pascal, per Sports Illustrated's Chris Mannix. Pascal defeated Jack, a former WBC super-middleweight title holder, via split decision in December 2019.

Since the end of Johnson's Pro Bowl NFL career, he has had no shortage of ventures in retirement, including appearances on "Dancing with the Stars" and WWE Raw. Athletically, he has played for a fourth-tier soccer team, joined a flag football league and taken part in a Professional Bull Riders event.

Hopefully, the boxing will go better than his bull-riding career:
