SL Benfica president Rui Costa has confirmed that Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain have submitted a bid to sign promising defensinve midfielder João Neves (19). The Portugal international is a target for PSG and the Ligue 1 champions look determined to lure the SL Benfica youth product to the Parc des Princes. It has been previously reported that the 9-time Portugal international had already agreed personal terms with Les Parisiens. The latter now need to agree on a fee with the Portuguese outfit.

Speaking to A Bola, Rui Costa confirms having received a bid from PSG to sign Neves. “I’m not going to hide the fact an offer is on the table. It is being evaluated but, as of now, João Neves is a Benfica player.” The former Portugal international did not disclose the value of the bid PSG submitted, although L’Equipe understands that the Ligue 1 champions have tabled a €70m bid including €10m worth of add-ons and that Neves’ release clause rises to €120m. “I never said that João Neves would only leave at the cost of the release clause”, added Rui Costa.
