Real Madrid registered a comfortable 3-0 win over Brest last night to propel themselves up the league standings.

It was Rodrygo who opened the scoring on the night through Luka Modric’s assist before Jude Bellingham doubled the lead in the second half. The Brazilian completed his brace in the 78th minute to bury the game.

Of them, Bellingham was named the man of the match for Los Blancos as he scored one goal, completed 94% of his passes and racked up one key pass on the night.

MVP speaks

The goalscorer on the night faced the media after the win that secured Real Madrid’s 11th-place finish in the UCL league phase and elaborated on the team’s dynamics in recent clashes.

“There are good feelings in terms of how we have managed our chances and we have been more organized in defence.

“People are saying that the front three have worked well, so great,” he added.

Real Madrid must now play two extra games before they have their place in the Round of 16 fixed, and the Englishman was not ecstatic over the development.

“It’s hard to play a couple of extra games. We have also had the Cup, the Super Cup, the League matches. It feels like we are always travelling and playing and it is difficult.”

“Although as I have said on other occasions, this Champions League format is going to stay a few years, so there is no need to complain,” he added.

Looking ahead

Finally, he looked ahead to a potential clash against Manchester City in the playoff round and what the team can expect from the off-colour Blues.

“They are going through a bad time, but they are a team of very high quality with Pep. With the quality they have, it will be difficult to beat them if we play against them.”

“I also want to mention Celtic because it deserves to be in the draw, it has done very well. We will face the game with humility,” he added on Celtic as a possible opponent.
