With only so much to do between competitions in the carefully controlled Olympic village, some athletes are getting creative with their downtime.

Last week, Korean short-track skater Kwak Yoon-gy posted a Youtube video in which he introduced his Dutch counterparts to a game from the hit Netflix miniseries “Squid Game”.

Kwak broke out the iconic “honeycomb” cookie challenge, in which contestants must carve out a shape outlined in a cookie using a needle without cracking it. The Dutch skating team, seemingly quite familiar with the challenge, eagerly attempted to pass the test under the threat of a squirt from Kwak’s miniature water gun.

The video has accumulated over three million views as of this writing. Kwak, 32, has been vlogging his experiences in the Beijing Olympic Village for his 767,000 Youtube subscribers.

As the Korean-made series became a worldwide sensation, games featured in the show began appearing in stores and online for fans to participate in from home.

Despite no lack of controversy and the constant anxiety of keeping COVID-19 away from the athletes, it’s nice to see competitors finding ways to enjoy their time together and upholding the spirit that makes the Olympic Games so special.
