Beaufort Academy picks up win as weather wipes out most high school football action

It was a light high school football schedule in the Lowcountry because of Hurricane Helene on Friday night.

Only two games were played in the area. Here is a recap of the action plus when other games will be made up

Beaufort Academy 39, Colleton Prep 20

Quarterback Dietrich Shuford accounted for two touchdowns and Nych Underwood ran for two scores as the Eagles pulled away in the fourth quarter to beat Colleton.

Beaufort Academy led 26-20 in the fourth quarter before Underwood’s second touchdown added to the Eagles’ lead. Andrew Butterford extended the lead to 39-20 on a TD run later in the quarter.

Shuford had a TD pass to Devin Prep and a TD run in the first half.

Pinewood Prep 60, Hilton Head Christian 20

Jeremiah Singleton rushed for 420 yards and four touchdowns and Asa Windham threw three touchdown passes for Pinewood.

Pinewood led 31-13 at halftime on three Singleton TD runs. Windham’s three touchdown passes went to Jayden Alexander, Jaden Bellush and Terrance Stallworth Windham was 22-of-27 passing for 237 yards.

Reid McCollum had a TD run and TD pass to Joseph Houpt for HHCA. Ian Kelly also kicked two field goals.
