Bears WR DJ Moore called Shane Waldron's firing 'unexpected'
Conversations about changes to the Chicago Bears offensive coaching staff, have ramped up in the 24 hours since Shane Waldron's firing and Thomas Brown was appointed the team's new offensive coordinator.
As head coach Matt Eberflus met with the media on Wednesday, he was followed by Brown, quarterback Caleb Williams, and wide receiver DJ Moore as they all discussed the changes that were made this week. When asked by reporters about the situation with Waldron, the star receiver said that while leaders on the offense voiced their frustrations, the move to fire him was a "shocking" one.
Speaking on where the Waldron failed with the offense, Moore had a pretty telling answer about his former coordinator and the biggest issue that came up was adjustments happening too late.
"I would say when we wanted to [change] a call, it's probably a drive too late or if we wanted to make adjustments and we just wait until halftime to make it, so we don't get the same look," Moore said.
DJ Moore asked what he thought was the biggest issue with the team’s in-game communication while Shane Waldron was calling plays.
“When we wanted to make an adjustment we waited til halftime to make it”

Now that he's out of the building, there will be more grievances aired of what went wrong having Shane Waldron as the team's offensive coordinator. The focus now shifts to their NFC North bitter rival, Green Bay Packers, a team that is fighting for playoff position while the Bears are searching for answers to their long-term future.
