Bears vs. Cardinals: Announcers set for Week 9 game
The Chicago Bears (4-3) will face the Arizona Cardinals (4-4) in Week 9, where Chicago is still looking for its first road win of the 2024 NFL season. And following a rough loss in Week 8, the Bears are in desperate need of a win.
The Bears’ Week 9 game will air on CBS at 3:05 p.m. CT. The television commentators for the game are Ian Eagle (play-by-play), Charles Davis (analyst) and Evan Washburn (sideline reporter).
Chicago is coming off a brutal 18-15 loss to the Washington Commanders, where a last-second Hail Mary spoiled the Bears' late comeback bid. Rookie Caleb Williams had the worst game of his young career, but he still led a late comeback to give Chicago the lead with less than a minute remaining. The defense, down two starters in the secondary, held the No. 1 scoring offense to just 12 points (and zero touchdowns) before that improbable Hail Mary to end the game.
Meanwhile, Arizona rallied from behind to defeat the Miami Dolphins, 28-27, spoiling Tua Tagovailoa’s return to the lineup. Quarterback Kyler Murray led the Cardinals on two scoring drives in the fourth quarter as they battled back from a nine-point deficit. Arizona has now won three of its last four games, and they'll be looking to make it three in a row when they host Chicago.
After winning three straight games, the Bears came out uninspired and unprepared against the Commanders -- and this was coming off the bye week. Now, Chicago needs a fast start against an Arizona team that is no slouch if the Bears hope to get back to their winning ways.
